Senior Lawyer
Manchester City Council - Grade 9
£37,306 to £40,057 (bar at £41,025) per annum

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated lawyer with an extensive knowledge of the law relating to children and families? Are you keen to develop your legal skills in this area? Are you a motivated lawyer with the ability to manage a complex case-load with limited supervision?

Manchester City Council's successful Children's & Families (Legal) Group will support you in the dynamic role of Senior Lawyer. In addition to having the opportunity to concentrate on the pre-proceedings aspect of Public Law matters, you will hold a stimulating, exciting and varied case load which will include advising our clients on various matters such as leaving care responsibilities, age assessments, special guardianship, policy and procedure. We have wide varied work streams. You will conduct your own advocacy in public and private law matters including contested hearings. You will provide high-quality advice at client meetings and pre-proceedings meetings.

Senior Legal Officer - Job Share
South Derbyshire District Council
£32,164-£35,093 (Pro Rata: £16,082-£17,546)

You should have sound knowledge and experience of dealing with property, contract and planning matters.

The post holder will be required to undertake some conveyancing transactions and provide advice on property related matters as well as provide advice with regards to contracts, including drafting and amending commercial and other contracts.

The post holder will also be required to provide advice on planning matters, including drafting notices and other planning related documentation. The post holder will also be required to attend meetings of the council's Planning Committee, when necessary.

A flexible working hours scheme is operated by the Council.
